Plain in the city

A plain Quaker folk singer with a Juris Doctorate in his back pocket, salt in his blood, and a set of currach oars in the closet, Ulleann Pipes under his arm, guitar on his back, Anglo Irish baggage, wandering through New York City ... in constant amaze. A Difficult Week for Jim and Jessie Jane Power

The mosaic man, the last squatter on St. Marks Place, now living in a tent in front of the gutted remains of his apartment... had a hard week, as did Jessie Jane, his canine companion.

Jim Power - Mosaic Man

Jessie was bitten... a hug from Jim

First Jessie was bitten by a strange dog, cut her shoulder...
Jessie Jane Power in the rain
Then the dumpsters were removed, on which they had strung their tent, and so when the torrential rains came, all that they owned became soaked...
Jim Power in heavy rain...
Hold them in the light fFriends...

Hi Lor, sorry to see the goons have stepped up their campaign of obedience. Good job Jim is richer than Michael Jackson! I hope to be heading for NYC again soon, so how about lunch in the Odessa?

Love to Genie.

man, land rights/ownership really gets me!!!

how does it make sense to buy land?

who are we buying it from... and i don't mean the shallow 'the guy who owned it before' crap.

how the hell can one buy land? it's like buying breathing-air or space.

it is insanity!

it doesn't even make sense!

how can it be real?

what percentage of America is uninhabited/abandoned/foreclosed?... what percentage of Americans are homeless?

it is God's green earth, not the "landowners'" !!!

like i said, this one really gets me!

I hope Jessie Jane heals well - bites are nasty wounds. (I once had a human bite that became a little infected. Oh, the joys of the school playground...)

Whoever moved that dumpster must have seen the tent. That was wickedness.

Yes, I will hold Jim and Jessie Jane Power in the light.

Hi Greg:
Jim's not so much rich ( quite poor ) but believes that through his web site he can control the entire world... not likely, but Jim does surprise one...
I'll pass on everyones best wishes to Jim and Jessie...

and pass on some light from me, he can make good use of it more than I and she can do with some healing.

Will do, J, any name to add to the good wishes? Jim and Jessie have had a real smile from all the good wishes.

when i squatted the lower east side, i would pass out in various areas... la plaza, the east river bank, avenue a.

anyhow, every time i ever acquired any belongings, i would stick them in a knapsack and use it as a pillow, any my pillow would inevitiably disappear.

i must have lost all my belongings 15 times!

know what though?

it was the biggest blessing of my life.

seriously.

i simply do not care about material posessions at all. i realize that they pile up and disappear, and they just don't matter at all.

now that i'm a responsible adult (ha) with an apartment, sometimes the homeless that i let in steal from me. it's usually monetary (i just discovered an empty piggy bank this morning)... know what though?

i don't care! i'm glad that they can use it.

it's just money.
